The West Fargo Park District is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Marketing and Design Intern to join our marketing team this summer. Position Overview
As a Marketing and Design Intern, you will work closely with the Marketing Communications Specialist, Marketing and Creative Arts Specialist, and Recreation and Events Specialist to assist with various marketing tasks, content creation, and event support. Your role will focus on designing marketing materials, creating social media content, and supporting community events, providing you with valuable skills in both marketing and design.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing and Design:
• Create visually appealing marketing materials, including digital signs, social media graphics, posters, and flyers.
• Assist with the creation of videos and photos to promote events and programs.
• Ensure brand consistency across all marketing materials and platforms. - Social Media and Content Creation:
• Execute social media strategies, ensuring posts are engaging, on-brand, and aligned with marketing goals.
• Distribute press releases, newsletters, and community updates.
• Photograph events and programs for use on social media, the website, and other marketing materials. - Event Support:
• Assist with planning and coordinating community events, ensuring all logistics are in place.
• Help with event set-up, tear-down, and overall execution.
• Design and manage event signage to enhance the event experience. - Community Outreach and Administrative Support:
• Support outreach efforts, including helping solicit sponsorships and distributing promotional materials.
• Assist with daily administrative tasks within the marketing department.
Work Schedule
This position requires a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the possibility of working up to 40 hours. You will be required to work some evenings and weekends to capture event photos and assist with community events.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong communication and design skills; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools (Canva, Microsoft Office).
- Experience: Previous experience in marketing, social media management, graphic design, or event planning is a plus but not required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions, including during events.
- Other Requirements: Must be available to work throughout the summer season, including some nights and weekends.
