The West Fargo Park District is seeking a creative professional to assist with art, science, theater, camp programs, and special events. As a Program Assistant, you will collaborate with a supervising Recreation Specialist and Program Coordinator to provide engaging and interactive classes and camps for West Fargo Park District program participants.

This position is approximately 25-40 hours per week from June through mid-August, to include weekdays and sporadic weekday evenings. These hours will consist of class prep and instruction related to creative arts programming and class instruction related to science technology, in addition to working at all special events.

Responsibilities:

• Basic duties may include, but are not limited to, taking attendance, supervising participants, passing out supplies, helping prepare and clean-up before and after classes, direct participants in activities, and provide assistance to Program Coordinators and partner organizations.

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

• Provide a positive recreation experience for participants with a variety of abilities, behaviors, and backgrounds.

Requirements:

• Ability to commit to the West Fargo Park District for the entire summer season for June to mid-August. Weekend hours are not required.

• Must be able to multi-task, adapt to change, and problem solve.

• Experience with and genuine enjoyment working with children.

• Must be able to assist in managing a classroom, while also providing a fun and relaxed experience for participants.

• Must have basic computer, smart TV, and technology knowledge.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods of time.
